Facilities Master Planning
On April 4, 2022, the Gilbert School Board approved CMBA Architects as the district’s master facilities planning firm.
CMBA Architects will work with the Gilbert Community School District to determine the priorities and goals of our current facilities, as well as understand the conditions and utilization of the buildings and the future needs as it applies to our learning environments. Identification of priorities, design solutions, budget options and potential schedules for moving forward are integral to the planning process.
CMBA is a long-standing architecture firm, established in 1963, with more than 50 employees and offices across Iowa and Nebraska. It has a broad reach and the capabilities to serve the Gilbert Community School District.
FEBRUARY, 2023
RSP & Associates and CMBA Architects both met with and presented to the Gilbert School Board at the February board meeting.
RSP presented its Enrollment Analysis for projected enrollment in the Gilbert Community School District over the next five and 10 years. Representatives of CMBA then presented its latest options with regards to the master facilities plan.

JANUARY, 2023
The Gilbert Community School District recently hired RSP & Associates out of Overland Park, Kansas, to compile enrollment projections for the district over the next five and 10 years. At the January meeting of the School Board, RSP & Associates released a snapshot outlining the potential growth of the district in the coming years.
Founded in 2003, RSP & Associates works diligently to bring meaningful planning to school districts. Using a customized Student Forecast Model (SFM), its projections can be viewed at a district-wide level, by geographical area, or by an individual facility. RSP & Associates has been used by multiple school districts in Iowa and throughout the Midwest to accurately forecast future growth.
Gilbert CSD is hopeful that it will have the final projections from RSP & Associates by February so that we can make decisions regarding our master facilities planning.
RSP & Associates Enrollment Analysis Preview
NOVEMBER, 2022
On Nov. 21, 2022, the Gilbert School Board met with CMBA to discuss the district’s master facilities plan. No decisions have been made, as the board is continuing to narrow the options. The board advised CMBA that it would like to see additional options in the near future.
The board also discussed creating priorities for the project once Gilbert CSD receives enrollment projections from RSP and Associates. The enrollment projections are scheduled to be completed in January.
