Gilbert PTO News

Carnival:  Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s carnival!  It is our largest fundraiser and allows us to make a positive impact in all of our schools through funding various projects and activities throughout the year.  Special thanks to our sponsors, volunteers, and most importantly, to the families who gave so much of their time to organize a successful carnival!

Conference Meals:  Conferences for preschool-8th grade are being held Thursday, November 17 and Monday, November 21.  You will receive an email from Gilbert Community Schools with a link to sign up to contribute to meals for teachers and staff these evenings.  After a full day of school and not much of a break before conferences begin, they very much appreciate having a nice warm meal.  Please have your item(s) to the correct school at the requested time so our volunteers can set out the food and teachers and staff can begin eating at their designated time.  Also look for PTO shops at the Elementary, Intermediate, and Middle schools for another chance to buy the items we were selling at the carnival.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to conference meals at the high school in September/October and to Deb Swanson for planning the meals!

Directories:  Directories will sent home with students sometime in November.  Thank you to Janis Anderson for her hard work on the directory!

Meeting:  Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 7 at 7:00 pm at Gilbert Middle School Library.  Free childcare will be provided.

Fall Neighborhood Drive:  Interested in learning about more ways to donate back to the school?  The Gilbert Education Foundation has organized a different Fall Neighborhood Drive this year and PTO is included as one of the causes.  Please consider making a donation today:  https://www.ffk12.org/gilbert

Volunteer Opportunities:  We are still in need of volunteers to organize an educational event and a spring fundraiser.  If you have any ideas or would like to volunteer, please send Beth an email at PTO@Gilbert.K12.IA.US.  If it’s the time commitment you’re worried about, find a friend (or 2 or 3) to work with!
