Service and leadership — they go hand in hand at Gilbert Schools, and the recent work of our Gilbert Intermediate fifth grade lighthouse team exemplifies that belief.
In what has become a yearly tradition, the fifth grade lighthouse team again had another successful Winter Warmth Drive in December. The group of students collected more than 200 items — winter coats, snow pants, boots, hats, gloves, and numerous pieces of clothing — to donate to the Bethesda Clothing Closet in Ames.
The fifth grade lighthouse team was able to experience the gift of giving and service while delivering the items and hanging everything up./
Anyone can utilize the Bethesda Clothing Closet for needed items, and items are free for individuals or families. If you are looking for a place to donate gently used items, baby to adult sizes, this is one of many great places in the Ames area to donate.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Winter Warmth Drive, and thank you again to our fifth grade lighthouse team for showcasing its leadership for all of our students to see.
