The Gilbert Community School District is pleased to announce it has received a grant totaling $39,450 from the Iowa Department of Education to help support computer science professional development in the coming months.
Our teachers will receive training this summer on Finch Robots, Microbits, Hummingbird Steam Kits, and Makey Makey. All of these items were purchased through previous grants.
Established by Senate File 274, the Computer Science Professional Development Incentive Fund offers Iowa school districts and accredited nonpublic schools the opportunity to strengthen their ability to provide high-quality computer science instruction.
Gilbert CSD is one of 15 school districts across Iowa to receive this professional development grant. Another six school districts received an endorsement grant.
