Our Building Trades Career Exploration 2 class at the high school has an exciting opportunity for someone looking to purchase a playhouse for their children.
Students in the class are currently building a playhouse that will be 8 feet by 8 feet, including a small porch within those dimensions, and it consists of a treated lumber deck with skids, so it is portable.
The playhouse is framed with pine two by fours and the porch is constructed with 4 by 4 treated posts and 2 by 4 treated railings. There will also be four window openings and a functional entry door. There will be no windows in the openings.
The exterior siding will be pre-primed t-111 wood siding. The roof will be shelled with 1/2-inch OSB and will have architectural shingles covering it. The interior will be unfinished; however, it will be painted white.
The playhouse is scheduled to be completed prior to spring break in mid-March. Delivery services will be offered.
The asking price for the playhouse is $1,800.
The playhouse can also be painted to the exterior color of your choice and the shingle color can be adjusted as well if purchased before it is completed. The current plan is for black shingles and a neutral color for the siding.
The class can also assist in the leveling of a pad at your home if necessary.
