Welcome to Gilbert CSD’s Student Counseling Services!

Our counselors play a pivotal role in the academic and personal development of students. They provide invaluable guidance on course selection, college applications, and career planning, ensuring students make informed decisions about their futures. Counselors offer individualized support, helping students navigate challenges such as academic struggles, personal crises, or social issues, fostering resilience and self-confidence.

Moreover, counselors serve as advocates for students, bridging communication between parents, teachers, and administrators to ensure each student’s needs are met. They create a supportive environment where students feel safe to discuss their concerns and explore their interests. By fostering a trusting relationship with students, counselors not only facilitate academic success but also promote emotional well-being, laying a foundation for lifelong learning and personal growth.

Backpack Buddies

The Gilbert Community School District has a program to help families bridge gaps with food insecurity.  Through the thoughtful donation of district patrons, a bag of groceries for each child in your home can be picked up at the Gilbert Lutheran Church every Tuesday and Friday between 9-5. Their address is 135 School St, Gilbert, IA 50105.

The church does not know any names, though we provide a number to ensure they have enough bags. If you are interested in participating, contact your school office.  We are forever grateful for the local volunteers making this happen.
