March Newsletter
Families who have had students go through the middle school building have come to know Jan for her kindness, patience and generosity. Jan, who became one of the “faces of the district”, worked hard to help everyone who came through the door, students, teachers, and parents. Jan had a great sense of humor and loved to share stories with others about the rigors of raising kids. I will greatly miss her friendly smiles and great conversations. Our deepest sympathies go out to her family; husband Paul and children, Megan, Cody, Tyler and Dylan.
Congratulations to the middle school students who recently participated in the production of “Beauty and the Beast, Jr.” It was an awesome performance and enjoyed by a packed house! It is really unfortunate that the weather interfered with their Friday night performance. We have a lot of talented students, and it is so enjoyable to watch them take on a challenging musical.
The auditorium is busy this month with many concerts at all grade levels. We have already had the high school and middle school concerts but there are several others coming up so check your calendars and come enjoy an evening of music. We also have the Spring Play coming up on April 7th and 8th, entitled Bedtime Stories (as told by my dad) (who usually messed them up). It is a comedy and is sure to showcase the comedic skills of a number of our students! We are also headed into the contest season for band and vocal and wish all of the groups competing the best of luck.
Spring sports are already beginning practices and our girls track team has already competed in some indoor meets. Good luck to our soccer, track and field, tennis (shared with Boone) and golf teams this season.
I hope you have enjoyed and been informed by the last couple of videos I have sent regarding our district goals and priorities. I want to be sure to communicate our progress without taking up too much of your time. If you have any questions about any of the information, please feel free to stop by my office if you are coming in for parent-teacher conferences next week. I’d love to visit with you!
