November Superintendent Message
Our Intermediate school will be receiving the Breaking Barriers Award. The Intermediate School has the highest percent of special education students’ proficient on the Iowa Assessments in the state. Gilbert Intermediate had 79% of our IEP students proficient, the state average is 35%.
A reminder that the High School Drama students will be performing the musical Seussical on Friday, November 3rd and Saturday, November 4th at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Auditorium.
As the months have passed we have tried to keep the patrons up to date with the process regarding the Long Range Facility Plan. Information has been emailed out to patrons in the form of Haila Updates. These are monthly updates that the board receives as we move through this process. There is also the opportunity for people to look at the recording of the board meetings and work sessions that shows the discussion on this process. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Lindsey Beecher at the District Office.
It is time once again for me to remind everyone about the possibility of inclement weather and school cancellations. To listen for any announcements about the weather we have a variety of ways to keep you informed: announcements on KCCI, WHO and WOI TV, alerts from the Gilbert district on your phone or email and website notices. If you are not receiving notices by phone and would like to, please contact my office and we will set that up for you!
