Superintendent Note – February

One way to continue your support of our district is to attend our annual Rock Hop!  The 2020 Rock Hop is scheduled for February 29th at the Quality Inn and Suites from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m..  The Foundation has sponsored field trips, middle school clubs, PBL materials, broadcasting equipment, mini grants for teachers, and Career Technical Education support this past year.  We could not be nearly as progressive as we are without their support. The evening is full of good food, good fun, and good friends!

Congratulations to the following students and coaches for moving on from district speech this past weekend: Ben Siegel & James VanDyk (Ensemble Acting), Elizabeth Delaney and Allison Weiler (Ensemble Acting), Jonah Hillmann, Owen Stuber, Brett Porter, Reece Logan and Anthony Mirano (Short Film). We wish them the best at the upcoming State Speech Contest. They are being coached by Zack Hackbarth and Heather Schurr.

On a personal note, my wife, Virginia, and I have truly appreciated all of the kind words of support and encouragement given to us following her diagnosis with cancer.  As of this writing, she is headed to surgery and looking forward to a full recovery. She is anxious to get back to teaching and has had her spirits lifted by all of the texts, emails, and cards she has received from the Gilbert community.
