Superintendent Note June 2019
Construction will be taking place in all four buildings this summer, so we have a lot of movement going on in the buildings. Progress can be messy but this fall we will all appreciate these efforts. Story Construction is doing a marvelous job on our new additions, and I look forward to the time when our students will inhabit these new facilities. In the meantime, please be patient with our construction sites.
Our spring sports have been highly successful this season! Britta Snyder captured her second state girls’ golf championship and the team received fourth place at the state meet. Our boys’ soccer team made it to state, winning the first game but losing to an incredibly tough team in the second round. As I write this, they will play for third place on Tuesday. The girls’ team is in the regional final this week and are the only team in the state to remain undefeated. Track and field qualified many athletes to the state tournament. And finally, baseball and softball have already notched several wins. Congratulations to all of these teams and their coaches for representing Gilbert in such a positive way.
We have half a day of school left for the 2018-19 year, and I must say this year has been a good one! The district is in terrific shape in many areas, and we continue to learn and grow in what we are delivering in our classrooms and how best to do that. I hope your sons and daughters have had a positive experience this year and that your family has a chance to enjoy some relaxation this summer. We will all recharge and be back at it before you know it!
